In the heart of the Garrotxa region, El Soler is a community that, since 1994, has been cultivating a different way of living with the natural world. Its members experience, day after day, a way of life in symbiosis with their environment, where human organisation seeks to attune itself to the rhythm of the place rather than to constrain it.
The project takes shape through several complementary practices. Honey production reflects a careful attention to pollinators and to the health of the surrounding ecosystems. The food forest garden unfolds an agriculture inspired by forest dynamics, both productive and resilient. To this is added the preservation of tree species drawn from collections, making El Soler a living plant conservatory in its own right.
AGECO supports the community in regularising its infrastructure, an essential step in firmly anchoring the project within the framework of the Garrotxa Natural Park. As part of this process, we connected them with Oriol Roselló, of the firm Bangolo Arquitectura, a studio specialising in the rehabilitation of farmhouses using traditional techniques and a bioclimatic approach, a sensibility perfectly aligned with the spirit of the place and the requirements of the park.
